Xiaomi is scheduled to present the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max on September 23 at 19:00 China time, or 14:00 in Greece. Techblog reports that the two phones will share the main platform, Leica camera system and next-generation Super Pixel display.
The battery is the clear split
The reported capacities are 7,000mAh for the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 8,500mAh for the Pro Max. Both are said to use Xiaomi's GSR VIII silicon technology with 32% silicon content. That would make the larger model's main hardware advantage endurance rather than a different camera or screen package.
What is reported so far
Xiaomi is describing a 2nm GAA platform without naming the chip. Techblog links the specification to the expected Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while noting that the processor name and charging speed are not yet official. An August 3C certification reportedly points to 100W wired charging.
The camera system is expected to include two 200MP Leica sensors, covering the main and periscope telephoto cameras. The display is reported to use a new M11 light-emitting material and bezels as narrow as 0.99mm. These details remain tied to the pre-launch reporting until Xiaomi's event confirms them.
Why it matters
A Pro model that keeps the same core cameras and screen as the Max could give buyers a simpler choice: choose the larger phone for more battery capacity rather than paying for a different imaging system. Pricing and European availability will determine whether that distinction carries over beyond China.
